Flight regulations and quarantine conditions regarding travel from South Africa to Turkey, as of 1 August 2021
Kindly be informed that the measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Turkey as of 1 August 2021 against the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus are as follows:
All passenger flights from South Africa to Turkey have been suspended until further notice. Only transit passengers are allowed on direct flights. Passengers may travel to Turkey from South Africa with stopover in a third country.
All passengers above 6-years-old are required to present negative PCR test results obtained within 72 hours prior to their flight, on arrival. Transit passengers are required to submit PCR test results only if a PCR test is required by the final destination port.
For all non-transit passengers (regardless of the nationality and vaccination status) who have been to South Africa 14 days prior to their travel, 14 days of quarantine at a hotel determined by the Governorate in the port of entry is compulsory. The passengers will be tested on the 14th day and released from quarantine centre if the result comes out negative. If the result is positive or symptoms are observed, the passenger will be isolated for 14 days from the date of the positive result. On the 14th day of isolation, a PCR test will be conducted and the isolation will end if the result comes out negative. Medical treatment will be provided in line with the COVID-19 regulations by the Turkish Ministry of Health during the isolation period.
Kindly visit http://web.shgm.gov.tr/tr/covid-19-tedbirler/6599-izolasyon-otelleri for the list of designated isolation hotels and prices. Passengers are required to make the full payment for the hotel and present the proof of payment in order to be allowed on the flight. (Should you need a stickervisa, you will be required to make the payment for the hotel after your visa application is approved at the Consular Section of the Embassy. You will be required to present proof of payment for the hotel in order to fetch your visa from the Embassy.)
All passengers who will enter Turkey are required to fill out the online form on the following website: http://register.health.gov.tr . The form is required to be filled out within 72 hours before the departure of the flight and will be checked through printed version or mobile devices by the airline officers. (Transit passengers are not required to fill out the form.)
