Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Türkiye and the Republic of South Africa were established on 22 April 1993. Turkish Embassy in Pretoria has been functioning in the existing chancellery building since 2018.
Within the Embassy, there are also offices of Military Attaché and Commercial Counsellor as well as Education Counsellor, Energy Counsellor, Social Counsellor and Internal Affairs Counsellor.
The Embassy, in addition to the Republic of South Africa, is also accredited both to the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Eswatini.
The Consulate General in Cape Town is attached to the Turkish Embassy in Pretoria, while there is an Honorary Consulate in Mbabane, Kingdom of Eswatini, accredited to the Embassy.
