We express our hope that the Ceasefire and Full Integration Agreement, announced today (18 January) by H.E. Ahmed al-Sharaa, President of Syria, will promptly and effectively advance efforts aimed at establishing stability and security in Syria on the basis of the country’s territorial integrity and unity.

We further hope that the Agreement will contribute to the security and peace of the people of Syria as well as the entire region, particularly Syria’s neighbours.

The new period that began in Syria on 8 December 2024, representing an exceptional opportunity for the country to achieve a prosperous future, has now entered a critical phase.

With the recognition of the realities on the ground, we hope that it has been fully understood by all groups and individuals in the country that Syria’s future lies not in terrorism or division, but in unity, cohesion, and integration.

Türkiye will continue to support the Syrian Government’s counter terrorism efforts and its endeavours aimed at the reconstruction of the country, carried out with an inclusive and unifying approach based on the consent of the people.
