A special meeting on Iraq, to be chaired by the Secretary of State of the United States, holding the Rotating Presidency of the United Nations Security Council, will convene in New York on 19 September 2014. Turkey will be represented at the meeting by a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

This meeting represents a follow-up to a series of events held with the aim of combating terrorist organizations which are increasingly active in Iraq and Syria. As known, Turkey has participated in recent meetings held in Newport (in the margins of the NATO Wales Summit), Jeddah and Paris with a similar agenda.
